Requirements requiring primarily "intercom" communication functions can equip their platforms with a combination of ROVIS and AN/VIC-3 units to provide combinations with up to eight radios or eight crew. These implementations provide a single conference intercom and independent selection of any of the connected radios at each individual user station. For applications where the requirement is more biased to having both intercom and telephony functionality we offer configurable systems with enhanced user station interfaces. The Generation 2 (G2) systems provide interoperability existing and fielded systems and allow the additional features to be fully implemented when all of the G2 units are configured in the same system. The additional facilities that are available are summarised below
Command VillageThe inherent capability of our digital systems is the ability to seamlessly transfer the data-streams without the loss off any quality, between platforms. The Multi Vehicle Networking (MVN) provides this capability and allows the introduction of standard gateways as and when they are required. The Networking infrastructure is an IP (Internet Protocol) system using the latest commercial technology which is then packaged to provide a rugged, expandable and flexible system. The transmission of audio across the network uses VoIP (Voice over IP) and this allows access to platforms equipped with ROVIS, AN/VIC-3 or LV2 to be accessed from standard and existing telephony services. Data across the network uses standard Ethernet. The networking system provides uses a 10/100 Mbps auto sensing Ethernet bearer and for interconnection between groups of these vehicles a 1 Gbps Ethernet link is used. The flexibility and connectivity of Ethernet is exploited to the full to ensure a highly redundant system. The Networking infrastructure and the ability to provide access to VoIP and telephony functions from the Generation 2 (G2) ROVIS and AN/VIC-3 units provides increased capability in platforms that have inherently relied upon expensive and large circuit switches to perform these activities. |
